Well it has been a while, but Suze finally released a 1600 x 2400 higher resolution version of Set 164 on May 19, 2016.
Here’s the preview:
The info accompanying the release says there are 33 images … however 4 are dups of each other … so really only 29 pics … so NO NEW pics as part of this release.
My one complaint as with the other recent Suze re-releases…they absolutely Photoshopped the hell out of Veronika … her skin does not look real anymore … so much for respecting our Goddess haha … but we shan’t complain shall we … we got higher resolution versions of an old Veronika set 😉

This set was originally shot in late 2001.
In my view I would have thought they’d have a bit more respect for their own work. There’s no point in looking for any kind of defect in the original releases on this set – because there aren’t any.
I am also extremely surprised aka disappointed that after 14 years since they originally released this set that Suze could not open their archives and find at least ONE MORE new pic to add to this wonderful set.
Indeed, t-man. I think it requires someone with a little more savvy to come and save the day here. 😉

I NEED NO RE-RELEASE OF WELLKNOWN PHOTO-SETS OF VERONIKA.
IN THE ARCHIVES SLEEPING SO MANY FORGOTTEN PICS, THIS PHOTOS
SHOULD BE RECOVER AND PUBLISH AT FIRST.
THIS IS THE SAD THING ON EVERY SITE (SUZE,DDG,M&B,AG,….)

Fully agree with everything you said. You must have seen what I just typed for my June website Updates category.
My rebuttal to them would be … “yet they still expect people to become paid members of their websites” … through their actions though they are just going to drive people away then retain them as members. Release QUALITY material and folks will want to retain membership.
As for what they still have in the archives … who knows … keep in mind that all these early Veronika sets were shot in either 35mm or medium format positive film … these were physically sent out to photo distribution houses for scanning and subsequent delivery to the publishers. I suspect that not all photographers were that diligent in keeping track where their original material went and make sure that it was returned to them. Is easy to see how material could get lost. Is much easier with digital now to control distribution and yet retain the original files.

I guess they figure “the customer is stupid” and won’t notice!!! Anyway … hopefully they read our messages and correct things for the next release (but somehow I think not!!!)
